An orphaned lure page is an otherwise-innocent page which has been hacked at some time in the past and used by an exploit distribution network to spread malware.
LinkScanner detects these sites because they still contain some code, such as an iframe or a script, that is still trying to reach out to the exploit server used in the original exploit distribution but which is no longer online.
These sites are also more vulnerable for use as launch vehicles by future zero-day exploits. In either case, users should avoid visiting such sites until they have been cleaned and protected by the site owner.
