This exploit uses a malformed playlist (.pls) file that causes a buffer overflow and allows remote code execution in popular media player Winamp 5.12. This flaw in playlist entry parsing was reported 30 January, 2006. An update by WinAmp to version 5.13 was released within 24 hours which eliminated the vulnerability. PoC exploit code was published on March 7, 2006.
